Covid 19 has created a lot of challenges in our lives and underlying unresolved issues that have been there from childhood have surfaced for many. Symptoms show up in many forms from physical to emotional, mental imbalances and even deep spiritual aspects. Let’s address anxiety.

When things have been bottled up for a long while and anxiety comes up it can be taxing for the person.

Here are some common symptoms of anxiety

  • Feeling nervous, restless or tense.
  • Having a sense of impending danger, panic or doom.
  • Having an increased heart rate.
  • Breathing rapidly.
  • Sweating.
  • Trembling.
  • Feeling weak or tired.
  • Trouble concentrating or thinking about anything other than the present worry.
  • Tightening feeling in the chest.

By the time anxiety sets in, there is already a buildup of issues that have accumulated over time and it is necessary to take steps to address this. There following are natural ways to work on getting some balance back.

  • Pranayama Breathing – which is alternative nostril breathing regulates the oxygen balance in the body.
  • Regular meditation practice which helps calm the mind – checkout
  • Eating fresh fruits and vegetables and cutting out meat.
  • Regular exercise is essential.
  • Avoid alcohol and caffeine.
  • It is essential to get some external help in terms of therapy to figure out the root cause that is causing the anxiety.

One may find there are many ignored aspects within that require healing. Underlying the anxiety, there could be present issues apart from Covid that have triggered this reaction. Therapy is nothing to be ashamed of. You have to live with yourself 24/7 and it is important to look after your personal wellbeing first, followed by that of those around you. Anxiety is telling you to help yourself so please do not ignore this call and save yourself the task of having to deal with deeper issues in future.
